Ladies and gentlemen,
Today marks a momentous occasion as we celebrate the successful completion of the 2023 REU-REEU Programme, a remarkable collaboration between Bowie State University in the United States and Egerton University in Kenya. It gives me immense pleasure to stand before you and extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who have made this journey possible.
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,
I stand before you today with immense pleasure and pride as we gather here at Egerton University for the 5th National Forum for Universities, TVETs, and Agricultural Stakeholders. This event serves as a remarkable platform for us to collectively address the critical issues of entrepreneurship, innovation, food and nutritional security, youth empowerment, and national development.
It is with heavy hearts that the Egerton community mourns the passing of one of its esteemed Alumni, Professor Samson Wokabi Mwangi, a distinguished Social Science educator, researcher, and consultant. His unwavering dedication to the field of sociology and his contributions to academia have left an indelible mark on the world.
In recent developments at the University, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage made a series of key appointments and reappointments.
On 13 June Mr. Wekesa Talia was appointed Assistant Dean of Students at Nakuru Campus College. His vast experience and dedication to student welfare are expected to be valuable assets in this role.
