Egerton University's Research and Extension Directorate recently conducted a training program for its researchers and postgraduate students on how to carry out a meta-analysis. The training, which covered the entire process of conducting a meta-analysis, was led by Dr. Lisa Tiemann, a visiting professor from Michigan State University, USA.

On 6 April, Dr Symon Kibet Kiprop was appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. His extensive experience and knowledge in Economics will help to elevate the Department to new heights.

Experts have given the green light to Turkana County's potential for mass production of high-value crops, according to a report prepared by Egerton University. The report recommends both irrigated and rainfed schemes as having potential for high-value crop production.

Egerton University, located in the heart of the Rift Valley region of Kenya, had always prided itself on its commitment to environmental conservation. It was no surprise, then, that the university was chosen to host the Eighth Edition of the Run for the Mau Ecosystem cross country event, a highly-anticipated event that aimed to raise awareness about the importance of conserving the Mau Forest, one of the largest water towers in East Africa.

Council Members of Egerton University gathered on Friday to participate in the greening efforts of the University and the larger conservation initiative of the Mau Ecosystem. This ecosystem is home to the Njoro River, one of the rivers that pass through the University, and drains its water in Lake Nakuru, a world-famous national park. The park is home to two types of flamingos, making it a vital ecosystem to protect.

Nduva has commended the institution for offering a Gender course that is responsive to the current needs of Kenyan society. She expressed her happiness and satisfaction with the curriculum at Egerton University and its potential impact on the country's Gender policy and documentation.

During her recent visit to Egerton University, Permanent Secretary (PS) for Gender, Veronica Nduva, received a unique gift - a plot of land known as 'The Gender Acre.' The Vice Chancellor, Prof Isaac Kibwage, presented the land to the PS during her visit to the institution.

Egerton University is celebrating the life of its don Muga K’Olale, former lecturer at the department Philosophy, History and Religious Studies and the immediate former National Chairman of the Universities’Academic Staff Union (UASU), who also served in the Union as National Secretary General between 2006 and 2016. His long service to the union made him synonymous with the union, therefore making him regarded as the NATIONALFACE OF UASU. 

The tenth edition of farmer’s clinic which is organized by the Nation Media Group ‘Seeds of Gold Magazine’was held at the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization(KALRO) Mwea in Kirinyaga County. Agronomical methods, farm mechanization, rice production, and horticulture were the main topics of the expo, which was attended by more than 2000 farmers and centered on the day's theme that was; Adopting effective technologies to improve agricultural production.

Egerton University, one of Kenya's leading agricultural and research institutions, hosted the Second Workshop on Africa Asia Partnership for Sustainable Development on 25 April 2023.
