Biodegradable Hyacinth plastic, an Innovation by Egerton University Student in the faculty of Engineering wins during the Kenya Innovation Week, Nairobi. 

Egerton University received guests from the University Funding Board who visited with a view of seeking ways it can support raising resources.

The University has put up measures to strengthen the framework to support innovations and also boost relations between academia and industry so that it can grow Income Generating Units through partnerships and collaborations.

From July to December, Egerton University undertook various activities and events that that underscored our commitment in transforming lives through quality education. During the 45^th Graduation Ceremony on 29^th July we graduated 2,322 undergraduate and postgraduate students. For the 2022/2023 academic year, we admitted a total of 5,300 first-year students to various programmes spread across all Faculties.

The Egerton University Alumni Association held a handing-over ceremony for its officials at the Milele Resort in Nakuru City on January 21^st, 2023. The event was attended by a large number of alumni members, as well as dignitaries from the university and the local community.

In Africa, the threat of climate change is particularly felt in the drylands where water scarcity and unpredictable rainfall patterns are a major challenge to food security. Dryland Cereals and Legumes (DCL) crops, especially sorghum, Millets, pigeon peas, Chickpeas, Groundnuts, cowpeas, play a crucial role in mitigating the effects of climate change in these areas.
