The Faculty of Law Legal Aid Project (FOLLAP) on Friday 8th July held stakeholder engagement forum to deliberate on the intersection between access to justice and democracy.
Egerton University was among the key institutions which featured at the Nation Media Group Higher Education Expo and Career Fair held at the Kisumu School on 15-16 July 2022. The Expo coincided with the International Youth Skills Day celebrated globally on 15th July every year. The theme for 2022 was "Transforming youth skills for the future".
On Surturday 16th July 2022, Egerton University hosted a conference to sensitize finalist students and alumni on Traineeship Internship opportunities available in Denmark and other Nordic countries, especially for students pursuing studies in the Agriculture field.
Egerton University agriculture students on Monday 18th July held a farmers training session in neighboring Njokerio village. The training that focused on horticulture was conducted by Concillia Orwa and Emily Jerop currently undertaking degrees in agricultural education and extension, and agribusiness management, respectively.
Egerton University wishes to congratulate Faith Kipyegon on winning a Gold Medal for Kenya on 19th July 2022 during the Women's 1,500 metres race in the World Athletics Championships in Oregon. Faith Kipyegon is the Brand Ambassador of the Mau-Egerton University Cross Country. She hails from Kuresoi, Nakuru County, Kenya. The University also congratulates Ferdinand Omanyala for representing Kenya to the semi final stage in the 100 metres men's race.
Centre for Integrated water and Basin Management (CIWAB) in collaboration with World Wide Fund (WWF) Kenya and other partners are currently implementing a project Catchment to Tap (C2T).

We are assembled here together once again to celebrate yet another happy day- a graduation of 2,322 candidates, leaving the doors of Egerton University to go into the world of work, either employed or self-employed.

Egerton University’s Dr Oscar O. Donde from the Department of Environmental Science at the Faculty of Environment and Resources Development has been appointed to the position of Crossref Ambassador.
Two activities were undertaken to commemorate World Environment Day celebrations. These were executed by the Egerton University Environmental Association, whose patron is the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Wilkister N. Moturi.
Egerton student, Ms. Quinter Achieng Okore, was part of the Kenya women's hockey team (The Blades) that represented the country in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. She was the team's goalkeeper.
The Blades were drawn in a tough pool that included defending champions New Zealand, Australia and Scotland. Though the Kenyan team was eliminated from the games having lost to the three giants, they put up a brave show considering this was Kenya's debut in the women's hockey category.
Ms. Okore also plays for the Egerton Hockey team known as The Egerton Sharklets. She is a Fourth Year Bachelor of Science (Double Mathematics) student.
Ms. Okore has anchored The Sharklets in several major competitions, including the recent national play offs held at the Taita Taveta University.
Egerton University is proud of Ms. Okore's achievement.

Professor George Morara Ogendi has been appointed to head the Board of Post graduate studies at Egerton University effective 18th August 2022.
Egerton University’s Faculty of Law Legal Aid Project (FOLLAP) with support from the European Union and United Nations Development Programme under the Amkeni Wakenya Civil Society Democratic Governance Facility is co-creating the Third National Conference on Access to Justice. Themed “Access to Justice During Electioneering Period in Africa in the 21st Century”, the conference will be held in Nakuru County from 14th- 19th November 2022.
About 4427 students who were selected through The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) were Monday received at Egerton University to join their first year studies.
The County Government of Nakuru will work closely with Egerton University to optimize on optimizing on the returns of the agricultural sector in the vast County.
The University is a haven that offers a natural environment to nurture the intellectual well-being and talents of students, Egerton University Vice-Chancellor Professor Isaac Kibwage told students during their orientation.
