It is 8.30 am Friday Morning. Egerton University is swearing in new student leaders in a ceremony witnessed by University Management, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage, at Kilimo hall, Njoro Main Campus.
Prof Nzula Kitaka is playing a crucial role as the university coordinator in the recently launched Nile Student Exchange Project, which aims to contribute to sustainable transboundary water governance and management in the Nile Basin. The project, launched by the Nile Basin Capacity Building Network Foundation (NBCBN) in Egypt in partnership with IHE Delft in the Netherlands, targets ten students per year from universities in Kenya, Egypt, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Burundi.
Prof Nzula Kitaka is the Kenyan team leader of the new collaborative project; Trans-Path-Plan: Water Transformation Pathways Planning. This five-year initiative is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under DUPC 3: Water and Development Partnership Programme, Large-scale projects, with a total funding of 1,499,985 euros.
Egerton University in its main campus Njoro has launched a new Material Science Physics Laboratory, equipped with tools and resources worth millions of Kenyan shillings, to support the education and research of its students.

The Egerton University swimming pool located at the Njoro Campus is set for reopening after getting a facelift by the Egerton University Alumni Association at a cost of about 150,000 Kenya Shillings.
The University community will soon be able to use the half-Olympic size swimming pool with sky-blue clear water again. The standard-sized swimming pool is 25ft by 17ft long and its shallow end is 3.5 ft while the deep end is 13.2 ft deep.
