Egerton University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage on 3 February 2022 hosted a team from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) site assessment visit Committee and the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) for an assessment of the Main Campus to host the Regional Resource Centre (RRC). The team comprised of the Director General Dr Lawrence Banks and NACOSTI’s Director General Prof. Walter Oyawa.
The Principal Secretary, State Department for University Education and Research Amb. Simon Nabukwesi, on Friday 4 February 2022 toured Egerton University’s Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Management (CESAAM). The tour was part of the African Centres of Excellence (ACE) Steering Committee meeting chaired by the PS Amb. Nabukwesi at Main Campus in Njoro.
The Webometric Rankings of World Universities has ranked Egerton University at position 3 in Kenya in the January 2022 rankings. The Webometric rankings assess universities in impact, openness and excellence parameters.
