The National Defence University of Kenya (NDU-K) management based at the Kenya Military Academy in Lanet Nakuru, held a meeting with Egerton University Management Board (UMB) on Monday, 13 September 2021. The meeting held at Main Campus in Njoro looked at the rich history of partnership between Egerton University and the Kenya Defence Forces.
Life at Egerton University returned to full capacity for the 2021/2022 academic year in September 2021 with the reporting, registration and orientation of new and continuing students. Acting Vice-Chancellor kick-started the semester by welcoming new students to the University through his address delivered at Main Campus in Njoro on 13 September 2021.

Egerton University and the University of Nairobi have partnered with the University of Hohenheim (Germany) in the Strengthening Urban Resilience in Food and Nutrition Security (SURE) project in Kenya. The project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany to a tune of € 624,999.94 (roughly Ksh 80 million), runs from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2024 and will be conducted at informal settlements at urban centres in Nairobi county (Kangemi, Mathare, Kawangware and Kibera).
Egerton University Council appointed Professor Gideon Obare as the Director of Tegemeo Institute of Agricultural Policy and Development effective 1 August 2021 for three years. Prof. Obare is a Professor of Agricultural Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management in the Faculty of Agriculture, Egerton University.
Course objective: To equip participants on the theoretical and practical aspects of livestock feed production, feed processing, feed formulation and quality control. It will enable practitioners formulate feeds which meet the supply of all the nutrients required by farm animals.
Egerton University’s Faculty of Law Legal Aid Project with support from the European Union and United Nations Development Programme under the Amkeni Wakenyaproject is co-creating the second National Legal Aid Conference aptly themed “Access to Justice in a Socio-Economic Crisis: Lessons from COVID 19 Pandemic” to be held in Nakuru County from 28th November to 4th December 2021.

On 14th-15th September 2021, the Jobs Open to the Youth (JOY) Project was launched at Egerton University’s CoELIB Centre attracting over 200 participants both physically and on online streaming platforms. The Project will boost rural youth empowerment and decent employment opportunities in Kenya and Cameroon. This will be attained through the provision of innovative financial and non-financial services through Integrated Agribusiness Hubs in Nakuru, Kakamega, and Kilifi Counties.
The Egerton University Alumni Association (EUAA), at it's meeting held on 2nd October 2021 at Milele Resort in Nakuru, appointed Mr. Moses Kiogora to be the Association's Brand Ambassador. Mr. Kiogora graduated from Egerton University with a Diploma in Animal Health in December 1989. He went on to pursue a number of specialized training courses that culminated in the award of certificates by – among others – Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd of Israel (1995), EPIC (Enhanced Performance and Innovation Center) for an Innovative Selling Skills Course (2005), EPIC for an Innovative Debt Collection Skills Course (2005), and EPIC for a Dynamic Sales Presentation Skills Course (2007).

A section of the Nakuru County Security team visited Egerton University’s Nakuru Town Campus College (NTCC) on Tuesday 5th October, for a courtesy call.
Led by the Nakuru County Police Commander Beatrice Kiraguri, the team held talks with a team from NTCC on different ways of collaborating to ensure safety for all the staff and students at the campus.
