Ogendo as the New Principal of Nakuru Town Campus College effective 16 August, 2021 for a period of five years through a competitive process that attracted a large number of applicants from several universities in Kenya. Professor Ogendo is an Associate Professor of crop protection (stored products entomology) in the Department of Crops, Horticulture and Soils, Faculty of Agriculture.

Virginia Tech(Center for International Research, Education and Development) is working with many organizations in Africa engaging the youth in the area of ICT and Agricultural Economics. The Organization Is currently working with CESSAM to reach farmers and offer agricultural training to improve their products and search for markets using a WhatsApp flat form.
The organization is currently working in Kakamega and intents to call up on the University to initiate a common workshop in November 2021 to exchange ideas, before it comes to its end in December 2021.

Egerton University and the University of Nairobi have partnered with the University of Hohenheim (Germany) in the Strengthening Urban Resilience in Food and Nutrition Security (SURE) project in Kenya. The project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany to a tune of € 624,999.94 (roughly Ksh 80 million), runs from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2024 and will be conducted at informal settlements at urban centres in Nairobi county (Kangemi, Mathare, Kawangware and Kibera).

Prof. Obare is a Professor of Agricultural Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management in the Faculty of Agriculture, Egerton University.
