Egerton University is solidifying its position as a regional leader in agricultural innovation following a high-level meeting on Monday between Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage and Kilimo Trust Kenya Country Director Mr. Antony Mugambi. The engagement advanced plans for establishing a Joint Centre of Excellence in Regenerative Agriculture to be hosted at the university’s Agro-Science Park.
A Presidential Taskforce on coffee reform has reached out to Egerton University to establish a strategic partnership aimed at upgrading Kenya’s coffee value chain from production through to processing, value addition and marketing.
Egerton University took part in the November 30 to 4 December 2025 International Conference on Drylands, Deserts and Desertification (DDD). The conference was held at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.Held under the theme “Sustainable Drylands – Shaping Humanity’s Future,” the theme spoke directly to global challenges facing dryland regions. These challenges include climate change, water scarcity, food insecurity, and land degradation.The conference brought together scientists, policymakers, development practitioners, and academics. Participants came from different regions of the world. They shared research, experiences, and policy ideas on dryland management.
