For 76 staff who joined Egerton University over the past year, orientation was not just a routine induction session. It was a constitutional call to duty.Addressing the new employees at the Main Campus, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Finance and Planning, Prof George Muthaa, set the tone early.

 Egerton University came alive with energy, color, and purpose as staff, partners, and sponsors took part in the annual Mau-Egerton cross country. The day began with the 4-Kilometre race for University staff. Men and women under 55 gathered early at the starting line. Stretching, warming up, and sharing smiles, participants were ready. 

This was more than a race. Every stride carried a message: fitness, teamwork, and environmental awareness.

A new book on the history of Egerton University has revealed that, Lord Maurice Egerton, is not its founder.

The book – Thus Until: A History of Egerton University, 1939-2019 – written by Professors Emilia Ilieva and Reuben Matheka says Lord Egerton’s key contribution to the setting up of the university which started as a farm school, was land.

Egerton University hosted a delegation from Oslo New University College during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between the two institutions. The delegation comprised Gun Bente Johansen, Pernille Torp, Andreas Crosby, and Scott Jones.
