The University wishes to inform all academic staff and students that normal academic activities will resume following the successful signing of the "Return to Work Formula" ending the industrial action.
Due to the ongoing industrial action by the Universities' Academic Staff Union (UASU) and Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) which has adversely affected the normalcy of University activities, the University Senate at its 580th meeting held on 4th November 2025 resolved that teaching and learning activities be formerly suspended until the industrial dispute is resolved.

Egerton University wishes to inform ALL candidates who have qualified for the conferment of various degrees and award of diplomas of Egerton University during the 2024/2025 academic year that the 49th Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday 28th November 2025 starting at 9.00 a.m. at Njoro Campus. ALL GRADUANDS AND GUESTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE SEATED BY 8.30 A.M.
Egerton University was founded in 1939 as Egerton Farm School and was upgraded to an Agricultural College in 1950. In 1986, the Agricultural College became a constituent College of the University of Nairobi. It was elevated to a University in 1987 through an Act of Parliament.
Since its inception, the University has registered significant expansion in student numbers, academic programmes and physical facilities. Currently the University has a student population of over 16,000 and a staff number of 1,291 and consists of two (2) campuses. Njoro Main Campus and Nakuru City Campus College.
This is to notify all students that officials from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) will be present at the university on Thursday, 18th September 2025.
