Dear Colleagues and Partners,

The DAAD Regional Office for Africa is pleased to inform you that the call for the next intake for the DAAD-funded scholarship programme "Leadership for Africa in East Africa" is now open!

This year the targeted East African countries are Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Uganda.

This unique scholarship programme funded by the German Foreign Office aims to support the academic qualification and advancement of young African refugees and national scholars from selected countries at higher education institutions in Germany.

The programme offers full scholarships for Master's studies in Germany to qualified applicants in all fields of study except for medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, law, fine arts and architecture.

All “Leadership for Africa” scholarship holders benefit from a complementary training programme in good governance, civil society, and career development. The mandatory programme must be completed in addition to the regular studies.

For more information, please refer to the attached documents or visit our website: https://www.daad-kenya.org/en/study-research-in-germany/leadership-for-africa-scholarship/

The DAAD Regional Office Nairobi will be available to provide digital and face-to-face information, a web seminar series, counseling, and support.

Prospective applicants can register to participate in our online web seminars at: https://www.daad-kenya.org/en/study-research-in-germany/leadership-for-africa-scholarship/

They can also contact us via the mail address: lfa.nairobi@daad.de or call us on +254 733 929 929

We kindly request your support in disseminating this information as our aim is to award more scholarships to applicants with a refugee status.

Going forward, we would also appreciate the opportunity to offer special online session for refugee applicants in various camps. Kindly let us know how we can organize this together before the deadline on 7th June!!!

Thank you in advance and kind regards,

Your Leadership for Africa Team
