The Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage, on Friday 19 April 2024, presided over the swearing-in of newly elected Egerton University Student Association (EUSA) officials at Main Campus in Njoro.
Thirty – four (34) dedicated students took the oath of office administered by the Legal Officer Janet Bii. They were seven (7) Student Governing Council members, eleven (11) Faculty Congress Persons, eleven (11) Halls Congress Persons, and five (5) Complimentary Congress representatives.
Speaking during the swearing-in event, the VC Prof. Kibwage commended all those who participated to ensure a successful election process. He especially commended the Electoral Commission chaired by Dr Moses Gichuki for conducting the second online voting process. Prof. Kibwage called upon the student leadership to prioritize open dialogue and consultation, both within the student body and with the management, a message resonated by the Deputy Vice Chancellors.
Present during the inauguration ceremony were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics, Research and Extension) Prof. Bernard Aduda, acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Planning) Prof. Richard Mulwa, Principal of Nakuru City Campus College Prof. Joshua Ogendo, Representing the Registrar Academic Affairs Dr Maurice Udoto and representing the Dean of Students Dr Justine Omwoyo.
