Opening Remarks By The Chairman Of Council Prof. James K. Sang During The The Launch Of The Egerton University Iso 9001:2015 Quality Management System (Qms) Certification Venue: Main Campus, Njoro Date: Friday, 31st October, 2025
Members of the University Council, the Vice Chancellor, distinguished guests, staff, students and all stakeholders gathered here; it’s my honour to preside over this significant event, the formal presentation of the Egerton University’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certificate.
Ladies and gentlemen, the University Council has fiduciary and strategic roles to ensure that the institution operates with integrity, accountability and in line with internationally recognised standards of quality.
The Council approved the initiation of the QMS certification process and in doing so we reaffirmed our collective commitment to providing higher education services that are efficient, responsive and internationally benchmarked.
The certification presentation we celebrate today is not an end in itself but a milestone in the continuous improvement journey. It signals to our students, our research partners, industry collaborators and the broader community that Egerton University is serious about quality, about being process-driven and about achieving results that meet and exceed expectations.
As Council we will continue to monitor the implementation of the Quality Management System, review reports on performance metrics and direct the University leadership to strengthen the institutional culture of quality evidence-based decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
I congratulate the University leadership, management, staff and students who have played their part in reaching this stage. On behalf of the Council, I reaffirm our support for sustained excellence and quality in all our endeavours.
Thank you and may this certification mark the beginning of a new chapter of institutional transformation for Egerton University.
