The Faculty of Education and Community Studies at Egerton University orchestrated a memorable event aimed at guiding and empowering first-year students through an informative advisory and mentorship talk.
Led by the esteemed Dean Dr Flora Fedha, faculty members gathered to elucidate the university's examination regulations and offer invaluable insights into academic success.
The highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Christopher Wanyama, a founding faculty member who has been an integral part of the institution since 1980. Mr. Wanyama's wealth of experience and deep-rooted connection to the faculty lent an unparalleled perspective to the proceedings.
Students, faculty, and staff alike convened in the university auditorium- Kilimo Hall, to partake in this enriching session. Mr. Wanyama, with his characteristic eloquence, regaled the audience with anecdotes from his decades-long tenure, providing a historical backdrop to the Faculty of Education and Community Studies. He detailed that as a career designer, he was instrumental in designing the graduation gown of the University.
Through his address, Mr. Wanyama not only shared the evolution of academic standards and practices but also underscored the importance of resilience, dedication, and community engagement in shaping a fulfilling academic journey.
Dean Dr Fedha expressed gratitude for Mr. Wanyama's invaluable contribution and emphasized the faculty's commitment to nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
