  • Oversaw the planning, design, installation and commissioning of a fiber access link for broadband internet access;
  • Formulated appropriate ICT policies and e-Strategies and provided technical and policy advice to senior management on all ICT matters in line with institutional objectives;
  • Accounted for the management, supervision, mentoring and career development of IT staff, allocation of duties, conflict resolution, oversaw staff training and development, and motivated staff to achieve peak productivity and performance;
  • Led and directed a team of staff, fostered teamwork and cohesion among staff and with the user departments, planned and oversaw the activities of the ICTs to ensure that programmed projects and outputs are delivered in a timely manner;

  • Designed and implemented databases and information systems in the institution;
  • Maintained and administered the institutional network and its related computing environment including hardware, systems software, applications software, internetworking devices and all other computer-related configurations;
  • Created and maintained an ICT configurations database, and assisted in maintenance and management of ICT infrastructure systems, including WAN applications;
  • Installed appropriate anti-virus software, and responded to security breach incidences;
  • In-charge of the internship program, and oriented trainees and new staff into the department’s operations and activities;
  • Setup, maintained and removed network accounts and passwords as required, and maintained and serviced IT systems for optimal operations;
  • Acted as a resource person and provided on-call technical support for hardware and software issues in the institution, as well as providing user training and support;
  • Ensured WAN connectivity in the institution and that systems are fully supported as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA), and reported deviations;
  • Updated and maintained the institutions’ website and all other back-end applications;
  • Setup hardware, diagnosed and corrected hardware failures, monitored system logs, acted on anomalies and backed up log files;
  • Set-up and maintain backup systems for file servers and in-office desktop computers;
  • Ensured inventory records are properly documented to reflect accurate asset movement, classification, valuation and status of the ICT equipment in the institution;

  • Africa-Asia Partnership (AAP)/Partnerships for Innovative Research in Africa (PIRA) for Sustainable Development grant award 2021 that involved researchers from Africa, Asia, America
  • The WaPOR 2 project that aims to assist partner countries in developing their capacity to monitor and improve water and land productivity in agriculture using remote sensing in support of solutions to reduce agricultural water productivity gaps.
