Egerton University’s exhibition stand attracted national attention at the 2025 Nakuru ASK Show, drawing a visit from the Chief Guest, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, H.E. Hon. Mutahi Kagwe. Accompanied by Nakuru Deputy Governor H.E. Hon. David Kones, the CS toured the University’s stand, which stood out among competitors for its dynamic showcase of research and innovation.
Receiving the dignitaries were senior members of University Management led by Prof. Bernard Aduda, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics, Research & Extension). He was joined by Prof. George Owuor, Director, Research and Extension; Prof. George Ogendi, Principal, Nakuru City Campus College; Mr. Charles Wanjohi, Chief Finance Officer; Mr. Leonard Chesand, acting Registrar, Human Capital and Administration; and Ms. Janegrace Kinyanjui, University Librarian.
The CS noted with enthusiasm the strong presence of young innovators from different Faculties and praised the University's role in nurturing talent and turning ideas into impact.
Egerton was later presented with several prestigious trophies, including 1st place in Best University Stand and Best in Research & Development. The University also earned 2nd place in Best Interpretation of the Show Theme, Best Innovation & Invention Stand, and Best in Youth Empowerment & Capacity Building, as well as 3rd place in Best Agro-processing Stand.
These accolades reaffirm Egerton’s leadership in agricultural research and academic excellence.
