The Vice Chancellor has made several strategic appointments in various academic and administrative units across the institution.
The most recent appointment is that of Prof. Julius Kipkemboi as Director of Income Generating Units, effective 13 June. Before that, Dr Luke Orawo was appointed Chair of the Department of Mathematics from 7 June, and Dr John Nduko assumed duties as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture on 12 May.
On 6th May, three appointments took effect: Dr Samson Obure as Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences; Dr Caroline Mundi as Chair, Department of Accounting, Finance and Management Science; and Prof. Thomas Kinyanjui as Chair of the Chemistry Department. Dr Catherine Munyua was appointed Chair of the Department of Applied Community Development Studies, effective 16 May.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor appointed Dr Justus Ombati as Deputy Director, Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, effective 2 May. Dr Augustus Muluvi was named Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences on 29 March, while Prof. Steve Omondi and Dr Dorothy Mituki took up the roles of Dean, Faculty of Science and Acting Chair, Department of Human Nutrition, respectively, on 27 March. Dr Bernard Kirui began his term as Dean, Faculty of Environment and Resources Development on 2 April.
In addition, Mr Bernard Ombui and Mr John Emeripus joined the University in April as Senior Legal Officer and Communication Manager, respectively, following a competitive recruitment process.
