Egerton University Investment Company opens ARC Coffee House


Egerton University Investment Company (EUIC), on Thursday 19 August 2021, opened to the public a coffee house located at the Agricultural Resource Center (ARC) Hotel at Main Campus in Njoro.

The launch of the ARC Coffee House is part of an initiative by the Coffee Directorate to increase coffee consumption in the country. The coffee house will also be an opportunity for the EUIC to diversify its business to improve profitability and enhanced the brand image of EUIC.

The Coffee House will be using coffee beans sourced in Kenya and distributed by the Coffee Directorate. The ARC Coffee House is the first coffee house launched by the Coffee Directorate at a public university.

At the opening were Secretary-General of Inter-African Coffee Organization (IACO) Ambassador Solomon Rutega, Egerton University Council Member Ms Esther Wabuge, acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Planning and Development), Professor Richard Mulwa who was there on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Isaac Kibwage, and Egerton University Investment Company Managing Director, Professor Symon Mahungu.

Also present at the launch were staff members from the University, EUIC and students.
