Egerton University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Kibwage, yesterday chaired a high-level meeting with the National Organising Committee of the Kenya National Research Fund (NRF) Festival in the University Boardroom.

The planning committee for the upcoming Kenya National Research Fund Festival presented a comprehensive progress report on preparations for the event scheduled to take place from August 18 to 22, 2025, at the University grounds.
During the meeting, Prof. Kibwage was briefed on key areas of progress, including exhibition area setup, demonstration farm preparations, stakeholder engagements, and the ongoing invitation of participants from the public and private sectors, non-governmental organisations, universities, technical and vocational education institutions, researchers, policymakers, and international experts.

The Vice Chancellor commended the planning efforts thus far but urged the organising committee to fast-track areas that remain pending to ensure seamless execution of the festival.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining the high standards expected of a national research platform and underscored Egerton University’s commitment to supporting innovation and research excellence.
Prof. Kibwage further extended an invitation to researchers, academic institutions, development partners, and industry leaders to submit abstracts and respond to the ongoing call for papers and posters.
He went on to encourage all interested stakeholders to book their exhibition spaces early to allow for efficient planning and coordination.
Egerton University remains honoured to host this prestigious event and looks forward to showcasing cutting-edge research and fostering meaningful collaboration across sectors.
