TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF TEACHING AND LEARNING
Due to the ongoing industrial action by the Universities' Academic Staff Union (UASU) and Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) which has adversely affected the normalcy of University activities, the University Senate at its 580th meeting held on 4th November 2025 resolved that teaching and learning activities be formerly suspended until the industrial dispute is resolved.
Students are hereby given up to Wednesday, 5th November 2025 at 2.00 p.m. to vacate the University premises.
Note:
This directive does not affect
1. Medical and Law students
2. International students
3. Postgraduate students
Resumption of teaching and learning activities will be communicated through the official University website (www.egerton.ac.ke) and social media. Students are advised to keep checking the university website and social media pages for any updates.
The University Senate apologizes for the inconveniences caused by the industrial action.
