The following is information about how to defer your studies if for reason or another you are unable to proceed

Deferment

If a student is not able to continue with their studies for any particular reason he/she is allowed to defer to another Session. The university allows students to defer their studies on the following grounds

  • Sickness.
  • Maternity/Paternity
  • Bereavement
  • Lack of fees
  • Any other valid reason that is subject to approval by the coordinator

In the case of illness and maternity/paternity, a medical officer or any certified medical practioner will make a recommendation to the Faculty. Any other reason for deferment should be supported by some evidence for the request to be granted.
Here is the procedure for deferring

  • Write a letter of deferment addressing it to the Registrar, Academic Affairs, through the Dean of Faculty, through the Chairman of Department (COD) and Lastly through the coordinator e-campus
  • Clearly indicate your reason for deferring
  • Also clearly indicate the session that you will resume your studies
  • Send the letter to our email address and wait for the response
  • Attach any document that may serve as evidence for you deferring the session in the email you send

Kindly note that the university shall not entertain any claims of a student being away without official permission. Also you are advised to appply for deferment before the session starts and should you defer after a session starts , you will not be refunded your tuition fee for that session.
