We wish to congratulate our Alumnus Major General Francis Omondi Ogolla on his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General and his appointment as the Vice Chief of the Defense Forces of Kenya (VCDF).

Until his appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Kenya, Lt. General Ogolla was the Commander of the Kenya Air Force. He holds a Diploma in Military Science from Egerton University.

We wish him well in his new role.

Twenty-five needy students from Egerton University have benefited from bursaries from a group of Alumni who joined Egerton University in 1990. The Alumni group known as EU 90 Alma Mater Charity Fund have incorporated bursaries and mentorship activities in their programmes as a way of giving back to their former University.

Here is the story of Mr. William Amwayi who is an Executive Secretary and Technical Assistant to ISO President, Engineer Eddy Njoroge. Mr. Amwayi is an Egerton University Alumnus having earned a BSC. in Animal Science (2007).
