Harnessing Scientific Knowledge for National Development
The theme of the Third Annual Research Week and International Conference was: Harnessing Scientific Knowledge for National Development. The sub-themes were:
- Agriculture and Natural Resources
- Health, Education and Environment
- Governance, Socio-Economics and Culture
- Science, Technology and Innovation
In 2008, over 100 papers were presented. There were also exhibits from industries and service providers. The event took place over three days, from Tuesday 16th September 2008 to Thursday 18th September 2008. Each morning all participants assembled in one room for a plenary session, where keynote addresses and previous day’s highlights were delivered. Thereafter, participants proceeded to parallel sessions organised in three rooms, according to topics. Time was also set aside for visiting of exhibition stands.
