CERTIFICATION
Egerton University received its ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 22000: 2005 certification on 16th June and 1st September, 2010 respectively.
The ISO 9001:2008 Management Representative and Team Leader is Dr. T.K.Serrem, who is, also, the Registrar in charge of Administration. The certification concerns itself with quality management system and calls for hard work and change in the change in the culture of doing business.
This ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety management system team leader is Dr. P.S. Muliro. The scope of food safety systems includes yoghurt and cheese, products of the Guild Ford Dairy Institute Plant at the University. The Certification is a clear statement of confirmation that the University boasts of high skills and capacity to not only train the required manpower for the food industry, but also instill a culture of quality. The team leader concludes that in order to continue meeting esteemed customer expectations, the team conducted training of all staff in Dairy, Food Science and Technology department and all other sections of the University involved in food handling.
