Prof. Michael Wabwile
Professor Michael Wabwile is a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society and has been Commonwealth Scholar at Fitzwilliam College in the University of Cambridge and Commonwealth Post-doctoral Academic Fellow in the United Kingdom. He holds a Ph.D. in Child Rights Law of the University of Leicester, a Master of Law degree in comparative private law of the University of Cambridge and LL.B. of the University of Nairobi.
Professor Wabwile has extensive experience and excellence in developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate law courses. He was previously Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Private Law at Moi University. His main teaching and research work is in the areas of human rights law, child and family law, natural resources law, public international law, comparative law, legal theory, civil remedies and alternative dispute resolution.
Professor Wabwile has recently been External Examiner/ Visiting Scholar at the Makerere University Law School, the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria and the University of Nairobi Law School. He is a reviewer for the International Journal of Gender Studies in Developing Societies and the Kenya Law Review Journal. He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and founder member of the Association of Child and Family Lawyers of Kenya.
